The nation?'s weather will not change much on Wednesday as wet weather and snow continue to plague the Northwest, and uncharacteristic warmth continues in the East.

The Northwest will see a break in rain and snow overnight as Tuesday's storm dissolves over the mountains, but a second round of precipitation will move into the coast by mid-morning. This second storm will be warmer than the one on Tuesday, pushing snow levels up into the mountains.

To the south, ongoing precipitation is expected throughout the north and central portions of California as Tuesday's storm system stalls out over the region. Heavy rain will mix into more widespread moderate precipitation, especially in the Sierra foothills north of rt. 80.

Temperatures will begin to warm up slightly throughout the day, and snow levels will move up the mountains.

Precipitation will mostly stay out of southern California and the Southwest.

East of the Rockies, exceptionally warm weather is anticipated. Temperatures 20-30 degrees above normal will continue to blanket the area. Highs in the 70s will reach almost to the Canadian border, with temperatures in the 80s expected throughout the Plains and into the Mid-Atlantic.

Some showers are possible in the Deep South and Maine could see some lingering showers and snow showers. Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Tuesday have ranged from a morning low of 15 degrees at Grand Canyon, Ariz. to a high of 87 degrees at Edinburg, Texas
