There is much interest in acquiring the new skills of gardening by a new generation of people who want more for themselves and their families. Some reasons to learn gardening is part of the same thought processes that motivated their parents, grandparents and previous generations of the family. The need for sustainability in the provision of food for their families and save money at high cost to buy food at the local supermarket. Additional motivation to learn gardening techniques came into play as a family are increasingly aware of the large-scale agricultural problems that affect both the environment and health of their family members may be. The following issues are leading a new charge for gardening and gardening small greenhouse to harvest throughout the year.
Every day there are news stories on GM food and people begin to ask the obvious question ? how does this affect me and my family? People want to know what is in their food, and here in the U.S. large agricultural enterprises and the government does not provide people with the answers they believe. He had come to the question of whether genetic engineering and use of chemicals in the soil will eventually disrupt the food supply and cause catastrophic levels of hunger in the world not to mention the environmental impact on the table of soil and water. Chemical fertilizers and insecticides are all wondering if the food is still good to eat and what the long-term effects on humans. People want to know what?s in the food they buy at the grocery store and they do not get the answers they seek. After all this food, genetically modified chemically grown harvested must be transported hundreds of miles of country roads and most are also imported from other countries.
All this leads people to start gardening in their own backyard and take responsibility for growing fruits and vegetables that taste better than store bought and only a few meters away from the table. Home gardening know exactly how the food they produce and most prefer to use organic farming methods and heirloom or no change in their gardens. Certain types of organized community groups to share food and exchange of seeds harvested from saving seed crops has not changed for the future. Schools are also getting into the act and there are greenhouse gardening increasingly develop and classes that are taught in elementary school to high school, and more gardening courses for adults who are taught across the country. Many schools are involved with gardening and gardening education that uses a greenhouse crop of little ones in their cafeterias and provide food that is healthy for them to serve.
Overall, the tendency to learn how to grow fruits and vegetables is good for families involved in gardening and help the country as a whole. I must say that as a young boy learning to grow food that is only part of how our family, but with the emergence of cheap food and easily accessible to the local grocery store for be easy not to continue the learning process and it seems an entire generation of young people do not know What about gardening. I must admit I am guilty of not teaching my children how important it is to learn to grow food and respect for the environment that accompany the lessons. I now teach my children to grow our own food and how to care for the land and harvesting sources healthier foods. I must say that there is hope of a new wave of gardeners plant the seed for the first time and get to test the soil with nutrients, just before planting their first garden.
