Eduard Khil Dead: Viral Star Known As The 'Trololo' Singer Dies At 77

Eduard Khil, best known as the "Trololo" singer, has died in St. Petersburg, reports RIA Novosti. The Russian singer was 77.

Last week, Khil was admitted to a hospital after suffering a stroke.

Khil was best known in America for becoming an unexpected viral video sensation just a few years ago, after the discovery of a decades-old television performance. In 1976, he performed a song that was once a hit in Russia, entitled "I Am So Happy to Finally Be Back Home," written by Arkady Ostrovsky.

But when performing the song on Russian television, it was determined that the America-romanticizing lyrics to the song should be replaced with nonsensical vocalizations, including "tro-lo-lo."

Those vocalizations resulted in a beloved Internet hit many years after its original airing. The YouTube video (seen above) of the enormously catchy performance has gathered over 12 million views since November 2009. In 2010, it became a veritable web phenomenon. The video even once brought Stephen Colbert "out of a funk" on his show.

My Long-Distance Relationship Story ? Worry, Doubt And Faith ...

?My Long-Distance Relationship Story ? Worry, Doubt And Faith

?

By: Ronke Alao

? The weather was warm and sunny. It was like any other Saturday, for most people that is. It sure wasn't like any other Saturday for me, it was one to remember. Two of my brothers, my fianc? and I were in the living room watching TV .My brothers were very much interested in what was on TV but my fianc? and I had our minds on other things. We both knew what the other was thinking. No words were needed. My dream had just come through, I was going to get a chance to live and study in the United States. So much excitement had been building up until this uncheerful moment. I was going to leave my fianc? behind and not see him for a while.

Perfect Dream, Perfect Plan

Several weeks before, we had talked about our hopes and aspiration for the future: I was going to attend grad school and be a Nutritionist while my fiance was going to come join me a few months later to also further his studies. We would get married , have great kids and have hugely successful careers. My fianc? would be a successful business consultant and entrepreneur while I was going to save the world through proper nutrition and natural alternatives to better health. It was all laid out, nothing could possibly go wrong.

We had talked about this and how we were going to keep our relationship strong and thriving for the time we would be apart. It would be a long 9-month period and I was so emotional about leaving I could barely sit up straight in a chair. It was soon time to leave for the airport and at the airport I said my quick goodbyes to everyone and walked straight to the security point, turning my back on everything that was familiar and 'secure'. After one stop in Europe, several naps, a few meals that tasted weird, and flight time that made me wonder if we had not gone beyond planet Earth into some unknown planet, I finally made it to the US.

What Happened To My Plan?

It was going to be a long nine-month period. Hollywood movies didn't quite prepare me for life in the US but staying with loving family friends who treated me like family made it easier. I was settling pretty good but missed my family and most of all the love of my life. But it was fine, we would see in just nine months right? Wrong again, try 26 months! Turned out things didn't work like we thought they would and my sweetheart would not be able to join me after nine months like we thought. It was painful but we figured it wouldn't be much longer?.we were dead wrong.

.Two years after I left home, I was working full time and attending nursing school at night, my fianc? had still not made it to the US and we had not set eyes on each other in all that time! Just long phone calls and emails. This wasn't looking good. Did I think nine months was going to be tough? I didn't know I would be trying two years on for size. By this time people were already asking me questions. "When is he coming?" 'Are you guys still serious?', '"What do you think you are doing, long distance relationship?" . Others were simply telling me stories I didn't care to hear- "You know, there is this lady who came to the US and before she got back to Nigeria, her fiance had married someone else?." and so on and so forth. This was when I realized that I had to shut out voices of negativity and doubt from even those I respected.

When you let people spray their vomit of negativity and doubt all over you, you become a stinky mess and strength eludes you.

I turned to the one I loved and we both drew strength from each other.

The Worries

Now, there were times when I would sink into worry. I never for once thought we weren't going to get married, but I had fears that we were both living in separate worlds and may be growing apart. I would worry about how this might affect our relationship. Thinking back , i believe being very open with each other and realizing that God had us covered was the biggest source of strength. Even though I would do my best to stay positive, I had to come to a place where I looked fear in the face and said "I don't care what you've got up your sleeves fear, but as long as I give it my best shot, you wouldn't stand a chance against me!"

Now don't forget, we still had not set a date to get married. That was more than enough to get any lady worried but I directed my energy towards other things. I focused on school, work and personal growth. I had been attending seminars to learn business skills but this seminars were helping me become a better person and my fianc? was falling more and more in love with me. I no longer nagged about when we were going to get married anymore. I was just being myself, honoring everyone the best I could, even the nay-sayers.

The Proposal!

December 3rd 2009, I was in Orlando, FL to attend an advanced leadership seminar called Creating A Dynasty, I called my fianc? as our normal practice was, to let him know I had arrived safely and he said "I've been thinking really hard and I think you should come home in April and then we can get married". My response? In my normal tone of voice, I said "Sure, that sounds good". No bells, no whistles, no screams. Not because I wasn't happy. I was the happiest lady on earth at that moment, but something had shifted. A year before I probably would have been very relieved and heaved a sigh of relief but I was no longer in that place of doubt and worry anymore. The circumstances had not changed but I had changed. I could not control the nay-sayers, I couldn't stop the fearful thoughts and worries from surfacing once in a while, but I had control over whether to dwell on them and take them all in. The difficult period had helped pull out the strength I never thought I had in me. Also, even though I loved my fiance, I was no more plagued by the fear of losing him.

The Wedding

On that beautiful day in April 2010, we got married. As we both think back, we are both glad it wasn't sooner. We both think it happened at the right time.

If I could change anything, I don't think I would. It was a long and difficult time but I grew stronger and more matured in that length of time. My husband values me more and confesses he can't believe the good fortune he has of having me as his wife. What better complement could one ask for!

Being in a long-distance relationship can be hard on those involved but it can work if both parties work at it. You would have to put your head down and ignore negative remarks. Also, guard your heart and?don't let others steal ?your Joy and Inner Peace.

Top Tips on Scuba Diving Mask Maintenance | ArticleCube.com

Of all the fun and adventurous sports out there, scuba diving is one of the most rewarding activities. After just a few indoor training sessions and shallow dives with a good trainer, one is ready to explore the underwater world of shimmering light on one's own! Most scuba divers are hooked to diving because they love the view.

A scuba diving mask creates an air pocket between your face and the water, making it possible for you to enjoy the underwater view. But that's not all ? it also protects your eyes from the salty sea water. Whether you are simply snorkeling or diving deep, you need to strap on a divers mask before you embark on your underwater journey. If you want the snorkeling mask to behave properly on your dive, you need to care for it. How to do it? How to make sure that the mask doesn't fog? The following tips will help you:

Initial Cleaning: Scuba diving mask demands care right from day one. Your new dive mask will come covered in labels. Also, there is a chance of oily residue silicone hanging on to the straps or lenses. These liquids may cause the mask to fog up during your dive or they may make it slip during the dive. So, you must clean the new mask well before using it. There are several mask scrubs and non-abrasive detergents that you can use for this purpose. Or you could simply clean it with your index finger, using gel toothpaste.

Regular Cleaning: The snorkel mask is bound to catch some salt and grime during the dive. This harms the silicone and rubber parts. Cleaning your mask with fresh water between dives is a good way of minimizing degradation. If you always rinse your mask after dives, it will last longer and smell better.

While Traveling: When you travel between the diving sites, the scuba diving mask is likely to gather more dirt particles from the air. For best results, you should clean the masks and put them into a special scuba gear bag. But that can get rather tedious. In this case, keep a fresh water bucket handy and soak your mask in the fresh water before cleaning it thoroughly.

Defogging: Nothing is more annoying and depressing than a scuba mask that fogs over again and again. To make sure that your mask never fogs up, you must use a defogging solution before every dive. You can buy such solutions from any scuba diving equipment. Simply squeeze two drops of the solution and rub the inside of the mask using your fingers. In case you do not have such a solution, you can use you saliva as a defogging solution.

In addition to these basic tips, there are several common sense precautions that you can take. Do not place your snorkeling mask face-down if you want to avoid scratches, keep it away from direct sunlight, place it in a special hard case to avoid abrasions, and always clean with freshwater after use. As long as you follow these basic scuba mask maintenance tips, you will not have to worry about your dive mask.

Kat Graham Takes Us Movie Awards Dress Shopping!

'It's slightly terrifying, but it's going to be really fun,' Graham tells MTV News of her Movie Awards style correspondent gig.

UNIVERSAL CITY, California — Kat Graham will be asking everyone who they're wearing when she hits the 2012 MTV Movie Awards red carpet this Sunday. The "Vampire Diaries" star and singer has been handpicked to be MTV's Special Style Correspondent on the red carpet before all the madness kicks off for the main show.

Before Graham hits the carpet at the Gibson Amphitheatre on Sunday, she needs that perfect outfit to wear for the festivities. And she invited MTV News along for a special fitting.

"No pressure! I just have to be very familiar with the designers and the artists and everyone nominated," she said. "It's slightly terrifying, but it's going to be really fun."

When it comes to her look, she explained that she has a specific philosophy. "I wanted to have something that was different, especially since I'm the fashion correspondent," she said. "And I want to set a standard."

One look Kat tried on was black with colored beads and a see-through skirt. "I like it. It's funky and slightly tame, I think, for me. The feathers are fun and it's definitely good if you are bored and you want to play around with your outfit, gives you something to do," she said. "But it might be a little too much."

She then tried on a multi-colored gladiator-style dress, again with see-through detailing and beads. "I don't know. You think the armor shoulders are too much? You never know if somebody's going to attack your shoulders. You have to be ready — anything can happen at the Movie Awards," she said. "This is not going to work."

To find out what she does end up wearing, tune in to the pre-show on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on MTV during the "Movie Awards Punk'd Pre-Party." Graham will join MTV News' very own Sway Calloway, Josh Horowitz and Jim Cantiello as they chat up all the big stars. The night will also feature a very special new episode of "Punk'd" with pro-pranker Ashton Kutcher pulling fast ones on Drake and Kim Kardashian.

The 2012 MTV Movie Awards, hosted by Russell Brand, will follow at 9 p.m. Featured performers include Fun., the Black Keys, Martin Solveig and Wiz Khalifa.

Head over to MovieAwards.MTV.com to vote for your favorite flicks now! The 21st annual MTV Movie Awards air live tomorrow at 9 p.m. ET.

Why Is Health And Safety Important In The Workplace? | The Article ...

?

By Nigel J Welford

Why is health and safety important in the workplace? Because it is quite simply that people?s lives depend on what happens at work. It is not unreasonable to expect that someone will return home in the same condition they left for work that morning. Unfortunately 171 people were killed at work in 2010 (according to the HSE 2010/11 statistics) with another 315,379 employees injured. The HSE doesn?t say how badly they were injured but safe to assume some pain was involved!

In reviewing the HSE figures, the industries with the highest fatality rates were Agriculture and Construction and in hindsight this does make sense. Although these figures are currently provisional, 42 people suffered fatalities in Agricultural incidents including 8 members of the public with 52 fatalities in Construction including two members of the general public.

Overall these are not great statistics, but the underlying trend of fatalities in the UK is downward and the UK is consistently one of the lowest in the EU and has been the lowest amongst the big five European countries for the past six years.

In business terms it does not make good reading either ? over 26.4 million working days were lost due to work related illness or injury, with the average worker absent for 15 days. Just think if you are a business owner and you lost a percentage of your workforce for 1 to 3 weeks ? what impact would it have on a business?

Over 1.2 million people also suffered a work related illness ? either caused or made worse by their current or past work. Around 75% of these cases were due to lifting/bad posture, stress, depression or anxiety.

More bad news? The HSE issued over 18,000 enforcement notices against businesses with 551 cases going on to face prosecution. Of these cases, a conviction rate of 94% was secured with an average penalty of ?35,938 per offence. Can you imagine what time, effort and cost to a business in dealing with the associated investigations, responses, paperwork and not to mention any communication with any legal representatives together with the stress it would put on any business? With recent changes to how to HSE operate this is expected to increase so even more reason to ensure your Health & Safety is in good order.

So, overall it looks to be easier to spend some time in making sure your employees are safe and spending some time looking at Health & Safety for your business. If you need an answer to the question of why is health and safety important in the workplace then the figures shown above and your responsibility as a business owner gives you the answer!

Nigel J Welford is a qualified Health & Safety professional and believes in making health and safety as simple as possible whilst still being effective and meeting all the regulations. Panorama9

Panorama9 ($1.50 per user per month; free available) is a cloud-based IT management platform that offers administrators real-time tracking on company assets, availability, security vulnerabilities, and compliance. All the information from all the computers in the organization is automatically gathered and rolled up in a high-level overview. Administrators can easily drill down to find the precise issue and the actual machine.

Panorama9 offers small to mid-sized companies a way to manage a long list of IT tasks through a single "pane of glass," using the Software as a Service (SaaS) platform. The system also recently added patch management capabilities, in which the monitoring server tracks what software and operating system each computer on the network is running, and updates older software to the latest versions. Similar tools include Spiceworks (free), Nagios (open source) and GFI Max.

Unfortunately, Panorama9 is currently only available for Windows machines. The company is currently working on an agent for Macs. This review looks at version 2.6.9.

Panorama9 is different from most monitoring applications in that it doesn't require agents to be installed on to every single machine. This can be a logistical nightmare for administrators to manage, and some systems can't have other software installed?even if it is a management tool. Instead, Panorama9 takes advantage of Microsoft's Active Directory to communicate with all other computers on the domain. The agent software is installed on only one computer, which acts as a centralized server, and that machine gathers information from others on the network before pushing it up to the cloud platform.

Features
With Panorama9, administrators can gain remote control of machines, create network maps, monitor all the systems in a network, receive text or email notifications when something goes wrong, generate reports reflecting network status, manage users, keep track of licenses being used within the organization, patch management, and track hardware assets. Thanks to the easy-to-use IT dashboard, administrators are able to see security threats or vulnerabilities, system availability, track compliance policies, and gain a complete asset management overview.

The features available vary by the type of subscription plan the customer selects. The free version has limited features, supporting vulnerability and availability monitoring and compliance and asset management. Only one user is available for the free version. The "Small" plan ($0.89 per device per month) supports three users and has all the capabilities in the free version as well as the ability to monitor three Websites. The "Regular" plan ($1.50 per device per month) supports unlimited number of users, same capabilities as the free version, unlimited number of Websites, a network map to see all the monitored devices, the ability to generate reports and receive email and SMS notifications. The "Enterprise" version ($2.25 per device per month) has everything the regular version offers, as well as patch management capabilities.

Agent 1-2-3
When a customer signs up for Panorama9, a confirmation email containing a download link for the agent software and login credentials for the dashboard is sent to the customer Inbox. The email lays out the installation process in a 1-2-3 list and has a few helpful hints. There's also a link to a video that explains how the agent works.

The server on which Panorama9 would be installed requires .NET Framework version 3.5. When the install wizard started, I checked off the "enable deployment" option and entered the username and password for an administrator account on a Microsoft Active Directory domain. After installation, the agent uses the credentials to gather information from the other computers on the domain.

The information is asked in the wizard because it's stored only on this central computer. Panorama9's cloud servers never see this information, which should reassure security administrators.

As programs go, Panorama9 is quite low-impact, with no icons or folders on the system. It installed two services, one to perform the actual monitoring, and another that updates the agent when a newer version is available.

Getting Started With the Cloud
Once the agent was installed, I logged into the Web-based dashboard from the same machine. The helpful confirmation email advised me to wait ten minutes before logging in to give the agent time to send data about the server as well as others in the network. That ten minute interval may just be applicable to large networks. When I checked the dashboard five minutes later, data from all four machines were already on the system.

I didn't have to enable deployment on the central server to automatically gather data from other machines. I could follow a more manual process by logging into the dashboard and downloading the agent individually on each machine. This is tedious, and also took much longer for the data to be transferred to the dashboard. While this lets me add machines on other subnets and different domains to the same dashboard, I far preferred letting the serverdo the bulk of the work.
